How the ten-day cure worksCleaning and maintenance
We scrub the walls, vacuum as needed, empty the skimmer and pump baskets and balance the chemistry. Use your own chemicals, or ours, charged by the pound.
A single visit. Useful before a party, or after a storm drops half the yard in the water.
Drain it down, clean the surface properly, refill and rebalance.
The same day every week, all year, so the water never gets away from you.
The part that costs us money
Most companies remodel your pool, fill it, and leave. Plaster that is filled and swum in straight away goes rough, stains and loses colour years early. So we wait ten days before the water goes in, and for the four weeks after that we come back to keep the chemistry balanced while the surface finishes hardening. It is slower, it is written into the proposal, and it is why the finish lasts.

01 / Cabana
A stained cedar cabana, flagstone coping and a round spa set into the pool's own curve. The spillover is the join between the two, and it is the detail that dates a build fastest when the tile behind it goes.

Straight lines are unforgiving. The coping course and the waterline tile have to hold a line across the whole run, and that is where a rushed resurface shows up first.

An octagonal spa faced in stacked stone with a stainless rail into the shallow end. Behind it, a board-on-board cedar fence and a Bradford pear, which is about as North Texas as a backyard gets.

LED lighting and a bubbler in the sun shelf. Lights are one of the cheapest things to change in a remodel and one of the biggest differences after sundown.

Behind the counter there is a remodeling center: a wall of pool tile, plaster and coping samples, plus an outdoor kitchen build you can stand in front of. Deciding on a finish off a phone screen is how people end up disappointed in June. Come and pick it up.
The same shop carries chemicals, pumps, filters, heaters, robotic cleaners, liners and genuine replacement parts, and tests your water at the counter for free.
Before you call anyone
A leak rarely announces itself. It shows up on the water bill, or in a patch of grass that never dries out. If any of these are true, it is worth a phone call before the deck gets involved.
How we find itMark the tile line and check it in the morning. Evaporation alone will not do that.
A crack that moves is a structural question, not a cosmetic one.
Air getting in usually means water is getting out somewhere on the suction side.
